ACTIVITIES
At Farm Lohiranta and in its surrounding region you can explore a large variety of exciting activities.
The clear waters of the River Ounasjoki offer you plenty of superb spots for fishing and the northern marshlands nearby are filled with the greatest Arctic delicacy, the cloudberry.
The nearby forests are filled with delicious berries and mushrooms just waiting to be picked.
During the winter in the the beautiful region of Tepasto, exciting snowmobile routes and the breathtaking scenery of Lappish wilderness form the perfect setting for fun-filled snowmobile rides and other winter activities.
You can make skiing trips to Tepasto village or to the riverside lean-to where you can enjoy grilling by an open fire. The farmhouse is located only a short drive from ski centres at fells Levi and Pallas.
The Lappish hut in our farmyard is at your disposal for grilling, preparing smoked fish and for enjoying the magical Arctic atmosphere. You can also try local specialities from our Lappish hut menu.

Fishing:
The River Ounasjoki is abundant in excellent fishing spots.

Skiing: You can make skiing trips to the lean-to nearby and to Tepasto village.
Ski centres Pallas and Levi are located within a short drive.

The River Kuiva-Tepasto and 8km-long Puksukoski Rapids are both located nearby.

Hiking: Pallas-Ounastunturi National Park is located only 35km from the farm.
You can also make self-guided excursions to the surrounding forests and fells.

Snowmobile riding: Only 1km to the Levi snowmobile routes.

Picking berries and mushrooms:
The surrounding forests and marshlands are great for picking wild berries and mushrooms.
